Note from the founder

William Labossiere

I started Range of Motion Recordings (ROM REC) because I lived the music-licensing nightmare firsthand.

As Music Director at Texas Christian University's School of Classical and Contemporary Dance, I spent way too much time chasing down rights holders across international labels, publishing companies, and composers I'd never meet. Getting a license for a single song could stretch on for weeks, and easily cost hundreds of dollars for one track, one show.

Meanwhile, as a composer, I was already writing constantly commissioned by choreographers and dance companies who needed exactly the kind of music I loved building.

The gap was obvious: independent artists and dance companies needed a catalog of easy-to-license music that didn't drain their budget or their patience. So I built it.

I'm growing this catalog one track at a time as a one-person team, every piece gets the same careful mixing and mastering, built specifically for movement. It takes real time, and I love every second of it.
